1873-CC $1 Seated Liberty Seated Dollar PCGS VF20
Exceptional for the Grade
This is an extremely nice example of the rare 1873-CC Seated Dollar. Most 1873-CC Dollars have been cleaned, have poor surfaces and don't come very nice for the grade. I looked at all the examples that I could find photos of (in all VF grades) that were auctioned in the last 20 years and this appears to easily rank in the top 3.
This coin is missing from a large number of Seated Dollar Collections and PCGS Registry Sets. This coin was recently crossed over from an old white ANACS holder where it was graded ANACS VF30. This coin was purchased in the 1990s by a long-time Seated Dollar collector and has been off the market since. To the unaided eye the surfaces appear virtually mark free, and with a glass only some minor circulation marks are seen under the attractive medium gray toning on both sides. This coin graded PCGS VF20 even has faint traces of lustre (seldom seen on a coin graded VF)! In summary, this 1873-CC Dollar is exceptional for the grade. [The old ANACS VF30 holder (circa 1993) is available to the buyer upon request.]
If not sold prior, I will have this coin at Table 910 at the Central States Convention show.
