1799 $1 B-23, BB-159 Obverse Stars 8X5 Draped Bust Dollar PCGS XF45

The 1799 B-23, BB-159 Dollar with the Obverse Stars 8X5 (8 left, 5 right) is an important and tough Red Book and PCGS Registry coin to locate in all grades, with only 11 examples graded by PCGS as XF45. This coin was struck from Bowers Die State II, with the die crack visible from the left upright of the E in LIBERTY through the lower right of the B and into the field. There are wave-like clash marks seen at the top of the date. The obverse is toned in medium gray with some darker toning mixed in and the reverse is toned in shades of medium gray and gold. Some light marks are noted under the toning with a 5X glass.
