1788 Cent Massachusetts Colonials - Massachusetts Copper Coins (Official) PCGS AU55BN (CAC)

This is an attractive and problem free 1788 Massachusetts Cent, Ryder-2B (rare variety above Extra Fine). On the reverse the S's in Massachusetts are "closed," appearing somewhat like the number 8, indicating the dies were prepared by Jacob Perkins of Newburyport, Massachusetts. Perkins is a fairly direct relative of mine. This chocolate brown example is in an older PCGS Blue Holder and is CAC Approved - CAC stopped stickering Colonials January 1, 2015. This coin has been off the market since 2014.
