This is a very attractive and original Draped Bust, Heraldic Eagle Dollar. It was recently purchased from a Florida coin shop owner who bought it (raw) as part of an old time collection and had it graded by PCGS for the first time. This coin is toned in medium gray on both sides over well above average surfaces for the grade.
This die marriage is normally seen with a light die crack inside the first five stars, which this coin has. This example is struck from a later die state with the crack extending to stars 6, 7, and the L in LIBERTY, with the obverse die starting to sink in the top left quadrant. These two stars and the L in Liberty may eventually disappear although I have never seen or heard of an example struck in this late die state.
